This evocative identity took visual cues from the period and characters depicted in J. P. Donleavy’s 1968 novel, The Beastly Beatitudes of Balthazar B – the inspiration for the band’s name. Decorative borders and flourished letterforms were employed to create a logotype and marque, which we then applied to a limited edition launch EP. To further express the band’s spirit and appeal to prospective record labels, the EP was sealed with wax and stamped with their marque.
