Mercator Minerals

About This Project

Mercator Minerals called on St. Bernadine to help with a rebrand as they transitioned from a junior mining company to mid-tier producer, specializing in copper and molybdenum. With a significant acquisition behind them, combined with a new CEO, a new CFO, and several new Directors, the rebrand had to reflect significant change and mark the arrival of the “new” Mercator to all stakeholders. As part of this transformational step, Mercator Minerals needed to better position themselves as ‘industry-leading’ to better facilitate additional investment funding, as well as improve brand perception to better reflect real value & opportunity.

The ‘M’ in the new logo suggests the terracing that occurs during the pit mining process, in additional to upward growth potential. The new identity made use of foil and metallic inks, representative of their two core mined minerals: copper and molybdenum, and the inks were made with actual copper and molybdenum sourced from their mines.
