She wanted a very female, happy and artisan brand. For the logo, we were inspired by the pottery wheel of her studio.”

Ovaitt Health Media https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/p/ovaitt-health-media/ Mon, 09 Feb 2015 18:10:23 +0000 https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/?post_type=portfolio_page&p=4481 Ovaitt Health Media is a New York based boutique creative design and communication firm focused exclusively on health.

Only established under a year ago — in a short space of time Ovaitt Health Media has produced visuals and campaigns in collaboration with clients such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and as a subcontractor for Global Polio Initiative.

“We collaborated with Ovaitt Health Media to completely rebrand and rethink all day-to-day material and collateral used by the firm in everyday life for communication, meetings and presence. We redesigned Ovaitt’s identity from logo, to invoice, to portfolio, to responsive website across print and screen.

The main objective for the rebrand was for Ovaitt Health Media to have memorable and engaging material which establishes long-term relationships and connections with its clients who take part in several meetings everyday. We were focused on referencing health material and pushing the ethos of improving health through visual design.”

Eskimo https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/p/eskimo/ Wed, 14 Jan 2015 06:43:55 +0000 https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/?post_type=portfolio_page&p=4392 “Our new identity is the result of rethinking of studio’s positioning. In our work we adhere to one of the basic design principles: the less, the better. In practice, this idea is reflected in the most minimalist identity. Main attention is focused on details: texture, print technology, selection of paper and materials. The color palette includes only two colors: white (purity, openness, ice cream) and the tree (manual work, individual approach, stick of ice cream).

Snowy business cards are made from duplex 400-gram paper (Arjowiggins Curious Touch Texture Natural) similar to ice cream brick. In order not to disturb the idyll of white, information is embossed with matte white foil.

For website design we stick to the same idea — nothing excess. Only images, information and neccessary navigation elements.”

OTNA https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/p/otna/ Tue, 09 Dec 2014 03:21:59 +0000 https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/?post_type=portfolio_page&p=4095 The new Oddds’ rebranding identity is an evolutionary set of systems that were progressively & intuitively placed together. Drawn from inspiration from the designers’ fascination of human behaviours and cognitive curiosities. This comes with perspectives of the study of humankind, cultures and design; referencing with philosophical values & new thinking.

The visual identity ties in around Oddds’ beliefs in four stages/themes. The first stage is Deep Sea Complexity; where all things imaginable can be created beneath surfaces and beyond edges. The second stage is Bravery in Hunting; where what lies unknowingly can be brought about with intentions and experiments through art and design direction. The third stage is Glamour of Illusion; where a certain mystique that is brought together by clairvoyance using forms of futurism. At the last stage, Science of Atmosphere; is where imagination and accuracy of methods brings about unlimited visible language.

The logo is a serif logotype visibly combines the new thinking theory into the Oddds’ brandmark. The word “New” is placed vertically, emphasizing forward-looking attitudes and carefully balanced out with the rest of the logotype.

The identity is conveyed through new stationery ranging from namecards, envelopes, postcards, thank you card, tags, coasters and packaging. With crafted finishings, each is executed with careful detailing and typographically driven. Materials and simplicity in fine lines can be seen through the craft of letterpress, matt gold and copper foils. Pressed and examined crisply in such a way that each are distinctively made with purpose. The visual identity dons and is accompanied with classy ebony, white and copper of tonal colours. The copper golds against the jet-black papers creates a mood of deep secrecy. From copper gold bags to postcards, this rebranding epitomizes the new Oddds.

Danh Hien Jewelers https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/p/danh-hien-jewelers/ Fri, 05 Dec 2014 09:39:41 +0000 https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/?post_type=portfolio_page&p=4051 Danh Hien is the trademark of an enterprise that specializes in hand-making delicate jewelry, working as a family tradition. The Enterprise is established in 1950 by Nguyen Van Hien, a craftsman. He was born in a family having tradition of fine arts handicrafts. He used to learn and work in Cambodia at a jewelry enterprise specializing in making jewelry for Sihanouk royal family. He has brought significant influence to the development of jewelry industry in Saigon among the decades of 1950s and 1960s.

Danh Hien is now having 02 jewelry stores and 01 jewelry workshop with 120 skillful craftsmen. Its diamond products are all made under the standard of GIA (Gemological Institute of America).

Danh Hien has the desire to have us design a new logo and new visual identity which can show the factor of luxury, modernity, specifically displaying the principal products which bear all the traditionality, the uniqueness, and their attention to each detail.

In logo, we take the main inspiration from the diamond. The image of a diamond is rather popular in jewelry trademarks. Therefore, the big challenge that we have to face is making a new, strange, and unique symbol.

Through working with the client, we have been informed that they desire to have a mascot representing the trademark. This is the new inspiration on which we have to focus.

Our direction for approach is the combination of the main letters in the trademark, the looking-downwards image of the diamond, the image of the lion in Celtic style to make the brand mark.

The serif font of fashion and elegance is often seen in reputable fashion trademarks. The color palette is selected to show the charm, the feminity beside the supplementary color system. Those colors have been carefully chose to go harmonious altogether over a spacious area.

For the visual identity, we exploit the inspiration from the structure and the block image of precious stones, diamond, the bond of chemical components under the guarantee of tidiness and elegance. The pattern structure may be flexibly applied in different angles.

In the application system, we keep the logo displayed simply with abundance of space and without conflict with the pattern system. The specific contents we made in publication are the selection of the colors for the main and supplementary trademarks. It is considered to combine with the paper materials and the initial natural color and the production process, mostly by hands and foil embossing.

In general, we have the desire to harmonize the classic and modern feelings. It must be the journey of the generations and it may bring trustworthy affect of a year-long trademark to You.

Scooters Sandwich Shop https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/p/scooters-sandwich-shop/ Mon, 24 Nov 2014 14:51:25 +0000 https://www.stationeryoverdose.com/?post_type=portfolio_page&p=3956 The major project I was involved with during Dropbox’s Hack Week was concepting a fun way to give away t-shirts. Justin Pervorse and I came up with Scooters Sandwich Shop — a sandwich shop that only serves made-to-order T-shirts. Everything from the pattern on the sandwich paper, branding and storefront visuals were a collaboration between the two of us. This was probably the most fun I’ve ever had branding something, from the custom Sharpies, paper hats and aprons, sandwich wrap, to the wood painted signage surrounding our area. Even some extra special “secret” shirts that I’m sure you’ll see soon. Oh and a legit deli case to serve everything up in.

There was a ton of work put into this from a lot of people. Huge thanks to the Dropbox design team for letting me in on all the fun.
